“This was one of three styled shoots for our recent Elopement themed workshop. When we started designing the mood boards, we knew we wanted three distinctly different sessions and disco biker was definitely our favorite one. It combined edgy and glamorous with just enough funk to make it completely original. Our color palette was really the driving inspiration when it came to styling details. We focused on including lots of metallics, blacks, pops of berry hued reds, and a ton of sequins and sparkle. Our team really nailed the vision board, and by the time it came together, we collectively giggled with excitement. There are little pieces of each instructor in the details, which also makes this shoot extra personal for us. From the hand painted vinyl announcement to the spray-painted record backdrop, we really put our creative souls into this session.
As with many events being planned during a pandemic, we did have some hiccups with vendors and their availability. The florals were donated last minute from a local organic farm in Carthage NC and arranged by our instructors the night before the session.
We really wanted to express the advantage of eloping during these challenging times, and give future couples a chance to bring their personality to the forefront. We also made sure to stick to more modern traditions, and added a signature bride and groom cocktail, as well as a confetti cannon (biodegradable of course) send off.” –
