“Shooting our engagement photos on a cold, grey, rainy day could have been a disaster. It could have been all washed out hair and running makeup and us dripping with disappointment. But it wasn’t any of those things.
Justyn led us through the rain with a clever choice of locale, and guided us through each other with attentive direction. Not much time had passed before I forgot about the conditions and was lost in the moment with my fiancée. There was something particularly special about doing something like this in the face of the elements. Huddling together under an umbrella very quickly turned to holding my wife-to-be close and laughing through our collective fumblings. We weren’t just surviving taking photos in the rain but enjoying the hell out of ourselves enjoying each other. Rain be damned, we were glowing! Well my wife-to-be was glowing, I was doing my best to look like I belonged anywhere near her.
The entire experience turned out to be a ton of fun. Justyn made us feel super comfortable, and very naturally brought out of us what I think we were there to capture, how much we love each other.
So… take that scheduling conflicts, and rain delays and cold, and wind, and overcast skies. What I’ll remember for years to come about this experience was how our love glowed just a little brighter and a little warmer than the handful of minor difficulties that could have otherwise ruined the experience. Love conquers all and all that I suppose. Well, love and a great photographer.”
