One of the reasons that I love working with couples is because they reaffirm everything that I think I know about love in about two hours. When I first met with Erica and Josh for their bridal consultation they had told me that they really didn’t want engagement photos done and that they were awkward in front of the camera. As with all of my couples that feel this way, I encouraged them to reconsider, even if it was only a mini session. I do this because it’s beneficial for both of us, this way my clients can see HOW I shoot, and are comfortable with me on the big day. Originally we had planned to shoot in downtown Raleigh but when Erica contacted me last week asking how I felt about the beach, I jumped on google (said a little prayer) and started looking up piers local to Wilmington. It was by pure coincidence that I picked the pier on the beach that Josh proposed to Erica – which they revealed halfway through our session, and it just made everything that much more. For the record, they are not awkward in front of the camera. Their love and laughter was infectious. And our session was nothing short of amazing, just as I’m sure their wedding will be in May.
