This was the most nontraditional engagement session I have ever shot, and it was absolutely fabulous. Jacquelyn and Justin were actually NOT engaged when we took these photos, but would be engaged just a few days after (He was planning a special proposal while they were in New York City). Hence nontraditional. The morning that we shot was the same morning our area got it’s first ice of the season. It was so cold. So very cold (as Justin said over and over) but this couple kept each other warm. We laughed and conversation was easy, only to be punctuated by the sound of my camera. We started our session at a local park, normally overrun with photographers and families but left vacant due to the weather, giving us free reign of my favorite areas to shoot in. We then set off for downtown Wake Forest where we roamed white street, taking advantage of dry benches, and getting scolded by Santa for some PDA.
