I’ve been looking forward to this session for weeks. And if we’re being completely honest…years. This was more than just a portrait session to me. And don’t get me wrong guys, with every client I work with, it becomes very personal. I always try to become close to my subjects and develop some sort of relationship, that way our shoot escapes that “photo session” feel and turns more into friends hanging out. One of which, has a camera. Fellow photographer Chesnee and I have floated through the same friend circle for years, but never had the chance to meet. When we finally did this past Saturday, it felt like I was being reunited with one of my best friends after years apart. I arrived to the Inn at Bingham School and was greeted with smiling faces, warm hugs, and (fresh from Nova Scotia) Lunenburg Stout. We laughed and chatted as if I wasn’t capturing intimate moments between them. Easy. And so utterly, astoundingly, perfect. Even after we decided to step outside into the cold North Carolina day and got photobombed – several times – by Delilah, the inn keepers sweet golden retriever.
